Built in 1974 and fully refurbished during the winter of 2000, the modern Hotel Castell Playa has a total of 264 spacious and comfortable guest rooms, including 246 twin rooms, 12 Superior Rooms and a further 6 Suites, all of which are built over 6 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the bay.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, fridge and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have sea views. In addition to the above, both the Superior Rooms and Suites also have a safety deposit box available for rental and all guest rooms at the hotel are provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, along with luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, public internet terminals, a games room, hairdresser, an air conditioned a la carte restaurant with show-cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests include a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens overlooking the bay which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a Jacuzzi and sauna for guests to enjoy.

The Hotel Castell Playa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities featuring petanque, darts and aerobics as well as evening entertainment with live music, cabaret and other professional shows several times each week.
