Built in 1974 and fully refurbished during the winter of 2000, the modern Hotel Castell Playa has a total of 282 spacious and comfortable guest rooms, including 264 standard twin rooms, 12 Superior Rooms and a further 6 Suites, all of which are built over 6 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the bay.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, refrigerator, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, both the Superior Rooms and Suites also benefit from a complimentary safety deposit box, along with a bathroom with bathrobes and slippers, and all guest rooms at the hotel are provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, along with public internet terminals, a games room, hairdresser, an air conditioned a la carte restaurant with show-cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens overlooking the bay which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a Jacuzzi and sauna for guests to enjoy.

The Hotel Castell Playa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring petanque, darts and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Fiesta Group's commitment towards caring for the environment, the Hotel Castell Playa has been awarded the internationally renowned certification of ISO 14001:2004 certification awarded for the achievement of the highest standards in environmental management procedures, along with the internationally recognised Spanish Tourism Quality Institute "Q" quality mark which is only granted to establishments which meet the highest standards of continuous improvement in all services.
