Built in 2002, the modern low rise Grupotel Macarella complex has a total of 120 guest rooms that are built over 3 floors, and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave oven, and a combined lounge/dining room with additional sofa beds, satellite television with music channels, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange desk and luggage rooms with showers for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests the Hotel Grupotel Macarella also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room with private terrace, seating a maximum of 15 people, which is equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool, with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols.

The Hotel Grupotel Macarella also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the Grupotel commitment towards caring for the environment, in 2006 the Hotel Grupotel Macarella was awarded the internationally renowned certification of ISO 14001:2004 certification awarded for the achievement of the highest standards in environmental management procedures, as well as the Thomson Gold Medal Award for overall customer satisfaction.
